LOL, I actually like this question, it makes sense and begs for discussion on the Freakonomics blog. If medical insurance and dependent care can be paid pre-tax, then paying ransom to save the life of a relative/dependent should fall in the same bucket.
Yes, people are really searching for these. No, I don't know who they are, nor do I really want to.
And yes, these often disturbing glimpses into your [friend's, neighbor's, spouse's, kid's, own] searches completely and absolutely disprove any possible notion of so-called Intelligent Design, so at least we know that.
The only edits to these entries are possible casing changes - searches will sometimes appear in Title Case or all lower case - depending on when I found them, deep in the pile of 34 trillion other search queries.
